Oh man, I didn't know that photo at 0:43 existed. That's Jae and I building a faerie house, when my hair was still blue.

It was great. By adhering to the principles- the show must go on, everyone has made a committment, not just he unfortunate leads- you were able to take advantage of the perfect Scottish weather!
Sometimes, you get what you need.

What a great month :) This is the kind of newsletter we have been looking for. Thank you all for all you do everyday for all of the kids.

The kids are really blossoming and yarn critters abound....

From the mom who heard for DAYS about those acorns in the garden... :)

Lisa, you were one of those peaceful beings that certainly influenced our decisions to come to Fairhaven School. I am very glad that my daughter Amanda had the opportunity to work with you and I'm sure she feels the same too. Thank you for sharing your enriching experience, and hope to have more of you.

I find it interesting that we (perhaps it's only I) often use the cooking analogy with education, particularly a Sudbury education. As we rapidly approach graduation, I know I've heard people discuss whether or not a student is "fully cooked", what steps and preparation he or she has taken, and what ingredients went into it.
Thank you for this "recipe". I wonder what we'll cook up next.

Our family was the one that visited Fairhaven and sat in on the JC case Mark mentioned. It was a great experience for us to see the judicial process working so beautifully and kids of all ages participating fully as citizens of the school community. Sam, our nine-year-old, sat riveted during the JC hearing and thought it would feel very empowering to be part of such a process.

Many thanks to Mark and all the other students and staff who took the time to talk with us and show us around. The entire visit was inspiring for all of us, and we came away even more firmly committed to helping create this kind of school and life experience in Austin.
