Ten Year Anniversary Party

On Saturday, May 17, 2008 Fairhaven students, staff, parents, alumni and friends celebrated the success of our first ten years with speakers Joe Jackson, a Fairhaven co-founder, parent and Treasurer, and Mikel Matisoo from Sudbury Valley School. A special feature of the Anniversary Party was the presentation of Fairhaven’s first book, Like Water, by staff member and founder Mark McCaig. Our annual Capture-the-Flag game and a catered cookout followed.

A Spring Arts & Crafts Fair

People came to buy paintings, photographs, cards, jewelry, scarves, prints, hats, sculpture and CDs made by Fairhaven students and Assembly members, and to take tea in the Circle Room. Proceeds benefitted the artists, Fairhaven Tuition Assistance Fund, and the Art Corp.

On Thursday, February 28

students and staff from The Circle School

in Harrisburg, PA visited Fairhaven. The Circle School is our closest Sudbury school neighbor. Fairhaven students and staff visited The Circle School in November. We all enjoy these visits and come away with new friends and new ideas.

Two years in the making and narrated exclusively by students at Fairhaven School, Voices is a candid and unblinking encounter with kid-powered learning.
